Hey Abraxas, we were
really glad we got to hear your band. A friend in Nevada that has
heard you before told us you were on another level than most bands.
I was
surprised when I saw you at the Del Sol Casino in Tucson. I got to say my friends were
right, you guys are the band to listen to if you can't see Santana
live. You really had that crowd worked up. Come back
soon! Ruud & Gert W., Tucson, AZ
You did it again man.
You tore up the house. Me and the girlfriend came to hear you when
we saw you on the schedule. We ended up staying all day to hear you
3 times. My girlfriend asked your guitar player to sign a pick for
her, which he did. That was way cool and he even signed the one he
had been using. After all the things the (Utah State) fair
has done over the past few years we were happy they had the best
band to ever play there back another year. Next year they need to
put you on the big stage and let you give a show or have you open for one
of the bigger acts that play. Abraxas deserves it if anyone does.
Xavier C., West Valley, UT
Once again Abraxas
stole the show, but of course you do that every time you fire it up
I think. They had the two best bands play first for some reason. The
last two bands were pretty weak compared to you. It would have taken
one helluva band to outshine you. You might tell the people that put
on Lavapalooza that the best band should play last. Somebody royally screwed the pooch on this. Thanks. Riley and Sherry G., Salt Lake
City, UT
Attention! Abraxas is
in the house! This is how we felt when you started playing at the
(Utah) state fair. You absolutely command attention. I think the
ventriloquist's dummies were even jamming to you. This was probably
the best show I've witnessed at any state fair and we work at 7 or 8
or them every year, having heard probably 150 bands in the past 10
years. You have the energy and groove many bands don't. You are what you are billed as, America's #1 Santana
tribute band. I'll testify. Adrian and Sharla W., Denver, CO
We caught you at the
Woodstock Tribute in Chicagoland and felt fortunate to have such an
amazingly talented group to perform for this show. As soon as you
started playing everybody was on their feet and rushed the stage.
You totally blew the other bands away. We were all mesmerized for
the 2 hour show you put on on a hot and muggy Chicago night. We'll
be seeing you again in April. Leon and Cecelia F., Milwaukee, WI
You were playing at
the (Utah) State Fair, and we thought it was Santana, since
he's playing Vegas every week we thought he was giving a concert
there. This is how good you sounded live. We hung around and came
back for the 6:30 show to listen some more. Abraxas is THE band
people! If you haven't seen them, you have missed the boat. Sean
and Marlena P., Las Vegas, NV
Me and my wife were
fortunate enough to catch you at a casino in Tucson while visiting
friends for the week. I couldn't think of a better place to spend an
evening, not at the casino, but with Abraxas and the music of
Santana. Amazing stuff happening. Lucky & Yvonne Fennell, Pacific
Beach, CA
Hey thanks for the
great music Abraxas. Once again you outdid yourself. Even though
your show was only about an hour long you managed to let all the
other bands know who was boss at Lavapalooza, as if there was any
doubt. We've seen you 3 times now and have always been entertained
and blown away by the massive wall of sound you guys put out. Keep
up the great job and see you soon! Terry and Teri C., Evanston,
WY
Several of us rode
our bikes to the Lavapalooza concert. They sure had the placement of
the bands messed up. You guys should have played last. You were a
lot better than the Hendrix and Who bands, there was no
comparison. Anyway you all really do
sound like Santana. You kicked some serious a**. Do you ever make to
the Yellowstone area to play? We'd like to see you again. The shows
promoter told us that you would be back next year but we don't want
to wait a year to see you again. Steve M. & the Gang, West
Yellowstone, MT
It's taken me a
couple of weeks to get around to it but I wanted to pass on my
thoughts. When you played in Chicago at the Woodstock Festival, it
was magical. That's the only word I can use to describe your band.
Being musicians ourselves we hear what non-musicians probably miss. You have feeling, soul, rhythm, dynamics, this cool groove, and so
much energy, it overflows into the crowd. We could see that you were
having a great time playing, that you really love what you are
doing. This is probably what made it so great for us. Chicago has a
Santana tribute (using your name by the way) and they are a 1.5
compared to you being a 10! I've heard both, I know who the 'real' Abraxas is now. See you in Forest Park in April! Stacy and
Jillian W., Morton Grove, IL
After reading
comments from others, I want you to know that they stole my thunder.
I was going to say how great you sound and tell you how much we
enjoyed it, but everyone else said it before me. You guys are a dead
on Santana band, very impressive. Rock on!!! Julie and Ford
C., Salt Lake City, UT
Thank you Abraxas for
a great concert. Me and my husband went to the Festival Latino
Americano with some friends that kept going on and on about how good
you guys were. We were not expecting what we got though. The best
Santana I've ever heard except for Santana live. Really, you all are
amazing. My husband is a Santana nut and he was mesmerized. I've
never seen a local band get a standing ovation before in my entire
life. That was too cool. We're looking forward to seeing you again
soon. Chris and Gene A., Park City, UT
Your band made the
Woodstock Festival. I went both nights and you were the
shining star of the entire concert. We wish you would have played on
Saturday night also. We had a group of almost 50 people in several
RV's staying there, and you converted all of them into Abraxas
groupies. Too bad you don't play around here more often. We're all
coming to Park Forest to see you next spring. Good luck guys!
Carla, Dave, Jeremiah, Skosh, Rita, Carmen, Blue, Randy, Mikey,
Sharon, Renaldo, Gerry, Jaime, Katey, "Lil' Darlin", Tanya and the
rest of "Our Gang" , Chicago, IL
What a great show! We
were blown away at the groove you guys laid down. You guys are
really Santana when you are playing. You have the sound and feel
that most bands would love to have. Abraxas is for sure the best
Santana tribute I've ever heard, and I'm a long time musician, so
I've heard more than my fair share. All of you are excellent on your
instruments. Good luck and hope to see you again. Fire and Ice,
Citizens of the World
I have to tell
you what a fantastic show Abraxas gave for our Woodstock Festival
outside of Chicago last week (Aug. 14, 2009). There were over 50,000
happy music lovers that attended the 2 day event, and we heard from many of them that they thought Abraxas literally stole the show. You were energetic, powerful and
sound just like Santana! You were everything we expected and more,
especially since the people kept you playing until almost 2am. I
wish Abraxas good things in the future and we'll be having you back
again next year for one or more of our festivals. Michael S., Woodstock, IL
Your band is totally
sick. What a great night of music at the Woodstock concert last
week. I was in musical heaven. I've heard the Santana tribute here
in Chicago and they are not even on your
level. The percussion, the guitar,
the keyboards, the energy, the look of Santana! You had them in the palm
of your hands. ABRAXAS IS THE BAND!!! Darby and Chris M.,
Chicago, IL
Can't get around it.
Abraxas was by far the best band that played at Woodstock (in
Chicago) last week. I was there both nights, and you guys kicked
some serious a**. You should've played on Saturday night also. Can't
believe you didn't. My wife is now in love with your lead singer!
Me? I'm in love with the whole band! Tyner and Sheree C.,
Bannockburn, IL
We were on vacation
last week in Laughlin, NV (at the AVI Resort Casino) and we thought
that Santana came down from Vegas to play. Your band gave the
greatest performance from a cover / tribute band that we've ever
witnessed, anywhere, anytime period. I don't know how much they paid
you but I'm sure it was not enough. You gave a great show, were
friendly, talked to everyone in between sets and after the show and
made everyone feel like they were your personal friend. Joe and
Cindy Eckard, Apple Valley, CA
Abraxas is the bomb!
Your band gives a new meaning to the term cover band. I didn't even
realize that there were Santana tribute bands out there. What you
are doing is really unique and realistic. Hats off to you all. The
AVI Resort-Casino said you were going to be back for sure. We're
looking forward to it. Dorothea and Renaldo, Truckee, CA
Other than the
Australian Pink Floyd, we've never been impressed with tribute
bands, but Abraxas is a horse of another color. You completely
impressed my husband (he's a professional drummer out of Vegas) and
I was amazed, which believe me, is a huge compliment because I'm
not easily impressed. All the glowing comments in the world cannot
convey the musical prowess of your members and the potent sound that
you put out. To anyone that reads this, these guys are rock
monsters! We want to thank the AVI Casino for having Abraxas out to
entertain us. Best show of the summer by far and the best I've ever
seen at AVI. Wendy and Jon
P., Las Vegas, NV
You didn't disappoint
us. Abraxas was better than ever at Snowbasin this year. Your band
is the ultimate tribute to Carlos. This is the 3rd year we've caught
your act and we are consistently blown away by how good you really
are. We don't understand why you aren't doing the bigger gigs like
the big Beatles tributes and the Pink Floyd tribute because you are
every bit as good as they are without question. Shelley and Brian
M., Park City, UT
We want you to know
that the show that
you performed at Snowbasin last week was superb. We were vacationing, in from
Cheyenne and couldn't believe that "Santana" was playing for us! I
wish you'd come over to Cheyenne and play for us there. People would
love you. We're starved of good entertainment, unless you like
country music. You boys nailed it right on the head. Arnie and
Steph, Cheyenne, WY.
Now I know what my
son-in-law was always carrying on about. Abraxas this and Abraxas
that. Unbelievable is all I can say. The sound is amazingly like
Santana, and we've heard him several times. We heard a Santana
tribute band called "S****" recently at a casino in Arizona and they
don't hold a candle to Abraxas, honestly. I mean they were good but
there is no comparison at all to Abraxas. You are great. You were by
far the best show of the year at Snowbasin, just like my daughter
and son-in-law said you would be. Stephen and Carolyn B., Ogden, UT.
Great show Saturday
at the Freedom Festival. You do Santana justice. Ellory M.,
Logan, UT
I see you three time
now. Very very good. I love Santana. I love Abraxas. You are the
best. Verona P., Salt Lake City, UT
Abraxas is the very
best Santana band we have heard. Being from California we get to
hear a lot of them every year. You are much better. You sound like
Santana, not just another band playing his songs. Thank you.
Serafina and Mateo V., Downey, CA
Let me start this
by saying that I am a musician also. Though I have to say that I
have heard a better band playing Santana recently. I saw Carlos
Santana earlier this year. Other than him, you are absolutely the
very best I've ever heard, and we have several Santana tributes in
California working the circuits. You blow all of them off the stage,
no contest. My only complaint was they only let you play for one
hour. What's up with that? And the band you opened up for was, let's
be realistic, not that good compared to you, though the girl was
hot. I see you're coming to Riverside in July. Very cool. I'll have
all my buds there to see you. Victor and Maria S., Glendale, CA
We were in town
visiting our daughter and son-in-law and they took us to the Arts
Festival to see local artists works, eat and listen to some music.
But we really were not prepared for what we heard. We really thought
Santana was playing. It looked like Santana. It sounded exactly like
Santana. It was Abraxas! We were very impressed with the quality of
your sound. We have a Santana impersonator in Las Vegas but trust
us, he is not even on your level. You need to come to Vegas and
play. You'd blow people away. We'll see you again on Saturday night!
I asked your guitarist to give me a pick and to sign it. That was
very nice of him. You are stars! Don and Sherry L., Las Vegas, NV
I was playing on
another stage and when we got done I heard Santana playing. We went
to see what was up and saw Abraxas. Man, you guys got it down to a
science. That was the BEST I've ever heard any band play Santana.
Our whole band loved it.
Mario G., Salt Lake City, UT
You have an amazing
band. The guitarist sounds just like Santana, great vocals, three
outstanding percussionists, rock solid drummer and bassist and a
totally wild keyboardist. But you are playing in the middle of
nowhere, no disrespect intended, but this band would be stars in a
big city. You had a big crowd and they were into it.
Salt Lake City doesn't know what a jewel they have in their midst. I
did see that you play all over the country though. Look forward to
seeing you again sometime, hopefully. Kenny F., Atlanta, GA
I got one thing to
say about Abraxas. You dudes are SICK! Best I hear from a live band
in a year. Rondo R., Ogden, UT
We made sure we
visited our son in Salt Lake when Abraxas was playing. Your band is
a treasure among trash. We have heard you play 3 times and you are
the best cover band we have ever heard. We are going to see our
daughter in July in Los Angeles, and we are timing it so we can take
her and her husband to see you play in either Riverside or San Diego.
Alanza and Cris Montez, Albuquerque, NM
From outside we
thought they were playing a Santana CD until we heard you talking
between songs. What you are doing is outasite. It took me back 30
years and then you played his new stuff too. I've never heard a band
do Santana like Abraxas does. We'll see you again soon this summer
hopefully. Do you ever play around St. George or Mesquite? Stephen B.,
Hurricane, UT
What can anyone say
that hasn't already been said? Your band is really great and have a
great show and sound just like Santana. I bet you hear that a lot
though don't you? You all were working very hard and really enjoyed
what you were doing. Please don't get egos and break up like so many
other bands do. Just play, enjoy and let us love you for what you
do. Chantel B., Park City, UT
To Abraxas band guys,
wonderful playing by you sounding like Carlos Santana. We enjoy very
much and want to see you play soon again. Enrique C., West
Valley, UT
Hi Abraxas. We just
wanted to drop a note and let you know how much we really
appreciated hearing you in St. Louis last week. It's not often, in
fact never have I written to a band website before, but after
spending a night with your music, I have to tell you that your band
is something else. I can't imagine a better way to spend an evening
partying other than listen to Abraxas play. Thank you so much for
all that you did to make this concert a success. Kristy and
Robin, St. Louis, MO
You played at the
Days of Yore Festival last week. Really amazing. My husband,
daughter and myself went to hear a band play Santana, and your band
IS Santana when you play. We're coming to see you again at the West
Valley Festival. Sharon T., Draper, UT
Hey dudes. Great show
at El Paisa on Saturday. A group of 18 of us came out and you rocked
our world. Who would've ever thought that a band of your caliber
would be playing in Salt Lake City? I guess every band has to play
and be from somewhere. You guys need to move to a better music town.
You had the place packed out, but you are way too polished to play
this town. Please play Smooth next time ok? Paco P., Apple
Valley, CA
I had Abraxas come to
St. Louis to perform for a Woodstock Celebration I put on, and I got
a lot more than I had bargained for! This band is the ULTIMATE
Santana tribute. They were totally professional, very well mannered
and dressed, and gave us the show of a lifetime. You would really
believe Santana himself was there if you didn't know better. Some
people at the concert actually thought it WAS Santana! They are the
best musicians I have ever been associated with, bar none. I already
plan on bringing them back to St. Louis next year. Thank you Abraxas
for making my party and concert a success. Michelle T., St.
Louis, MO
My daughter brought
me to see Abraxas at the State Fair as she is a friend of the
guitarist. I was shocked at how good you really are. She told me you
were, but after hearing you, and being from the Woodstock
Generation, I believe you are Santana reincarnate. There are no
words to describe how wonderful your band really is. Great!
Wonderful! Powerful! Exquisite! The BEST! These don't begin to tell
the power of Abraxas. Good luck to you in the future. Evelyn A.,
SLC, UT
Seeing Abraxas was an
enlightening experience. They touched our hearts and soul with their
sound, just like Santana does in concert. You mesmerized the
audience with your rhythms and feeling. You play from the heart and
people can feel it. I'm from California and have seen other Santana
tributes (we have many of them) but none of them are of the caliber
of Abraxas. If you can't see Santana go see Abraxas, same same.
Derek and Tawna D., Buena Park, CA
On Saturday we
thought Santana was playing. We kept hearing the music and when we
finished eating we tracked you down. That wasn't hard to do, just
follow the crowd. It was unbelievable how you put out that wall of
Santana sound, and it was just like his band. We were in town from
California and we bought your CD just to remember you by. I heard a
lot of people talking about you, and it was all very complimentary.
You are the best tribute to Santana we've ever heard, and in So.
Calif. we have several of them, but you are on a different level. Victor
and Kimmy S., El Cajon, CA
Saturday night was a
special night. I brought my Mom and Dad to listen to the best
Santana anywhere. They are a couple of ex-flower children, and they
didn't expect much, even though I told them how good you were. Well,
they are Abraxas fans now. Dannie, Gregory and Pamela, SLC, UT
Caught your show at
the State Fair on Saturday and was impressed beyond words. Me and
the wife sat for over 2 hours listening and it was like each song
was better than the one before it. I know people were leaving the
grandstand concert to come and listen to your band, we did! Dan
and Arlene, Denver, CO
Only the Greg Rolie
Band (and Santana of course) tops your Santana performance. D.
Timm, Dallas, TX
After seeing your
band perform at the Utah State Fair, all of the other shows we saw
(including Marshall Tucker, etc.) paled in comparison. You guy
freakin' rock! How 7 guys can put out that much sound is amazing,
and you sound just like Santana himself. I know because I heard him
this past spring in Omaha. The only difference was the cost in
tickets. I hope I get the chance to see you again. Xavier C.,
West Valley, UT
I don't know if you
remember me but I was the guy from Memphis that talked to several
band members after your show at Snowbasin in Utah. You guys need to
come to Memphis and play. Your show is too good to be played locally
where you are. You need to take it on the road. My son and I sat
there in the sun for 3 hours so we could keep our front row seats. I
have to tell you that all in all you guys are as close to Santana as
I've ever heard, and Memphis is a huge music city, with a Santana
tribute of our own, but they are not comparable to Abraxas. You all
sound like Santana and have all the percussion and everything. We
saw Santana a couple of months ago and we enjoyed you every bit as
much. Hope to see you again in the near future. Russell R.,
Memphis, TN
We've seen (or
endured so to say) many concerts this summer waiting for Abraxas to
play, and you didn't disappoint us. In fact, you were even better
than when you played last year. The songs you played were the best
of the best of Santana. Your band has a lot of talent. I hope you
guys make a name for yourself. You deserve it. Abraxas is the best
Santana tribute band anywhere. Jonny and Diana, Odgen, UT
Great Santana show on
Sunday guys. How you can play 2 hours in that heat I don't know. I
know the guitar amp blew up or something, but you still finished the
show, and it sounded great. Soul Sacrifice was totally great.
Abraxas is THE band! Ken and Kelly R., Chicago, IL
Abraxas is a great
band. It was very sunny and hot and you still gave a 2 hour show of
the best Santana music I've ever seen played live by anyone except
Santana himself. All the people at the concert thought you were
wonderful. It was the best show of the summer by far. We'll see you
at the State Fair. S. Ascencion, Park City, UT
I saw you last Sunday
at Snowbasin which was awesome. I am a Puerto Rican from
NYC living in Utah so you can imagine how excited I was to hear you
play! I am getting married next July and am hoping you
can be hired to entertain. Please let me know if you are
available. Dalia, Sandy, UT
